Manufacturing Stories: Meet Dewi

We think it is important to feature exactly who made the clothes you wear, so we all remember that everything we touch has a story and a beginning.  Here, we feature a few of our slow fashion artisans in Bali in our ongoing series. Next up, meet Dewi!

Question: What is your name?
Dewi

Question: What is your occupation (are they a beader, knitter, etc.)
I am in Product Development

Question: How long have you been working in the industry?
I have only been working in the industry for 7 years

Question: What do you enjoy about your job?
I really like fashion.  I like to see the process and I love when samples are ready

Question: What do you do for fun when you’re not working?
I enjoy hanging out, relaxing, and gardening. My brother also has a pizzeria and I help out there too.

Question: Where did you learn your skill set ?
I learned basic sewing and patternmaking at school. My family also has a garment production workshop for traditional Balinese clothing
