An exciting March update:
The borders finally reopened and we were able to travel back to Bali and around Indonesia to meet up with our incredible teams. It was truly an incredible trip, finalizing our spring and summer collections, hand picking the most elegant and eco-friendly fabrics and prints, and getting a head start on developing our fall 22 designs. Being able to see our amazing team in person again brought me so much joy and we did not waste any time crafting beautiful and luxurious collections for you to enjoy. I cannot wait to show you what we've been working on together!
The first part of our trip was spent perfecting the fit and details of our spring and summer collections. Each day we met with our pattern maker, and sample room to ensure each style is made with the highest quality and love. I love connecting with our team here, spending time with them, laughing with them, getting to know them even more and learning more about the different techniques and ways to make our styles even more luxurious. One of my favorite days of our trip was spent picking through the beautiful deadstock fabric rolls to select the best prints and fabrics for our upcoming seasons. The beautiful fabrics are so inspiring and new styles instantly come to mind for each one.
Every time I travel to Bali, I get overwhelming feelings of joy, love, and excitement. The island holds such a special place in my heart. From the warm sunshine, to the abundance of greenery everywhere you look, to the big inviting smiles on everyone's face, it truly is a magical place. We started our time in Bali with a quick trip to the beach and a sunset dip in the ocean before starting work the next day. Connecting to nature first is so important to me and reminds me of how important it is to take care of our planet.
I was eager to meet some of the new artisans and team members we are working with here and to develop long lasting relationships. Pono, one of our knitters has been knitting for over 30 years and has such a love for his craft. Getting to watch him master the loom machine so effortlessly was an experience I'll always remember. I'm so proud to be working with so many incredible women and help support their careers and their families.
One of our last days was spent shooting our gorgeous new spring collection. I always get so excited to see the full collection come together, styling each piece and seeing how every style is modeled. Our upcoming spring collection captures the essence of spring in such a beautiful and effortless way.
I am so thankful to be able to travel again and spend time working directly with our incredible team and cannot wait to go back later this year.
