Meet our Belt Artisan, Heru

At Paneros Clothing, we celebrate the artistry that transforms raw materials into timeless pieces of craftsmanship. Today, we are excited to share the inspiring journey of Heru, the artisan behind our beautifully handcrafted belts.

Heru’s story is one of perseverance and passion. Originally from Java Island, he moved to Bali seeking new opportunities. There, with the guidance of friends, he discovered his calling in the art of belt-making. Over the past decade, he has honed his skills, blending traditional techniques with innovative designs.

Heru’s workspace is a reflection of his dedication—a home studio where he creates each belt with care. This intimate setting allows him to manage his craft while maintaining a harmonious balance with his family life. The convenience of working from home means he can support his family and immerse himself in his passion without the need for constant travel.

For Heru, the beauty of his work lies in the creative process. Crafting a belt is not merely a task but a labor of love. He takes great pride in experimenting with new techniques and designs, viewing each belt as a canvas for his artistry. The process is as rewarding as the final product, filled with moments of discovery and innovation.

Recently, we had the honor of witnessing Heru’s meticulous process in creating our Alanis Studded Belt. The experience was a testament to his craftsmanship. He begins by laying down the belt pattern on premium leather, carefully cutting around it to ensure a precise fit. Next, he marks the leather for the stud placement, meticulously aligning each stud with precision.

Using his specialized tools, Heru hand-makes holes for the studs, a process requiring patience and skill. He then places each stud by hand, securing them with a hammer to ensure durability. Every detail, from the logo stamping to the final assembly of belt loops and buckle, reflects his unwavering commitment to quality.

Outside the studio, Heru finds joy in simple pleasures—relaxing at the beach, taking walks, and spending cherished moments with his family. As a proud father of two, with a 22-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter, his family is a source of inspiration and support.

Heru’s dedication to his craft not only creates beautiful belts but also embodies a story of passion, creativity, and family.
