    A Conversation With Priscila

We sat down with Priscila de Gustín in Bali to talk about motherhood, personal style, and the beauty of building a life rooted in what matters most.

Originally from Spain, Priscila spent two decades traveling the world as a model after being a young athlete and competitive swimmer. Today, after ten years of calling Bali home, her life looks very different. Alongside her work as a model, she is raising three daughters, ages 12, 7, and 4, with her husband, embracing a slower rhythm centered around family, connection, and everyday moments.

In our conversation, Priscila reflects on how motherhood has transformed her perspective, the lessons she's learned from her daughters, and why she now values timeless, well-made pieces over fleeting trends. From evenings spent watching the sunset to passing clothing down, she shares a thoughtful perspective on what it means to live, and dress, with intention.

Read on for our conversation with Priscila.

Tell us about this season of your life. What fills your days right now?

"Now that I am a mom and I live in Bali my life is completely different. I wake up, get the girls ready for school, work from home, go to the gym, and sometimes I have a photoshoot. When my husband and I pick up girls from school, we try to focus on them and enjoy Bali life, like going to the beach to watch the sunset."

What do you love most about being a mom?

"Everything. I used to be independent when I was modelling because I was constantly travelling. What I love now is that most of my days are the same. I really enjoy taking care of my girls. They teach me a lot, and I try to teach them also, but I think they are teaching me more."

What feels different about motherhood now compared to earlier years?

"I think I got a little bit anxious with my first daughter because I was so independent, and now I have someone that was so dependent on me. I know I am a great mom, but I am also a wife, a friend, a model, and an independent person. I enjoy that I know how to separate these things now, which I didn't when I first became a mom."

How has the way you dress evolved since living in Bali?

"Before I had my first baby, I had many events and presentations in Spain. My clothing was more model style. In Bali, my style is more mom/more myself. I don't have a lot of pieces here, but I have pieces that go with everything. Here, I have less space, but more useful things that I can use over and over again"

What do you value most in your wardrobe today that you may not have valued when you were younger?

"When I was young, I loved fast fashion. Now that I live in Bali, I want to spend my money on nicer things. I think it is important to have nice, simple pieces that go with everything. I think they call it Sodoku dressing: have three tops, three pants, and three sweaters that you can mix and match with each other. I have learned that something simple does not only go with one season. Also, I notice that quality is very important at the moment, especially here in Bali, where the weather is so extreme. I think it is important to invest in pieces that can withstand the test of time. and will stay with you for a long time."

What makes something feel timeless to you?

"The basics: a nice pair of jeans, a nice blouse, a pair of sandals or heels, a nice purse, a little black dress. I love to see my daughters wear the same dress that has been passed down from my oldest to my youngest. I hope I can do the same thing, to pass things down to my daughters, or family, or friends. That feels timeless to me."

What do you no longer feel you need to prove through what you wear?

"I don't need to prove that I am beautiful. You wear the clothes, the clothes don't wear you. I can wear anything and go anywhere and I know that I'll be ok."

What advice would you give your younger self about style?

"Don't spend that much money on clothes that you will not use in a couple of years."

Do you typically like a more fitted or relaxed fit?

"I feel comfortable with both, but at the moment, in my mom era, I prefer to wear looser clothing."

What do your everyday moments look like?

"At the moment, taking care of my girls, enjoying life, being a good wife and friend, and feeling comfortable with myself is the most important thing."

When is the best moment of your day?

"When my girls are home. After we have dinner and shower, we spend time together in bed and talk about our day. We laugh, we scream, we have fun."
